Helicopter Accidents

Jacksonville, Florida Helicopter Accident Lawyers

Our attorneys have handled dozens of personal injury and wrongful death cases around the world involving helicopters.

Helicopter accidents are often the result of poor maintenance or failed parts. Helicopters have many moving parts, and when any part fails, it can have a domino effect, causing a catastrophic crash. Pilot error can also be a factor. By nature of the way a helicopter operates, it is not inherently stable when compared to an airplane. The dynamics of how the flight controls work and the weight of the helicopter affect the stability and airworthiness. All of these factors make helicopter accidents more challenging to investigate than airplane accidents.

A partial list of helicopter accident cases that our attorneys have been involved with include:

  • Sikorsky CH-53D Helicopter Crash - Jacksonville, Florida 1992
  • Bell 47G Helicopter Crash - Panama City, Florida 1993
  • Sikorsky RH53D Helicopter Crash - Virginia Beach, Virginia 1994
  • OH-58 Helicopter Crash - Mercury, Nevada 1995
  • OH-58 Helicopter Crash - Bisbee, Arizona 1995
  • Bell 206 Jet Ranger Helicopter Crash, Lamoille, Nevada, 1994
  • Bell 206 Helicopter Crash Forge, Tennessee, 1996
  • Bell 206B Helicopter Crash, Philadelphia, Mississippi, 1999
  • R-22 Helicopter - PA23 Airplane Crash - West Palm Beach, Florida 2004
  • Robinsonn R-44 Helicopter Crash - Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida 2007
  • Rogerson Hiller RH-1100 Helicopter Crash - Hosston, Louisiana, 2007

All civilian helicopter accidents are investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Our lawyers work closely with the NTSB and also conduct our own investigations. We work with experts such as metallurgists, aeronautical engineers, expert pilots, meteorologists, and accident reconstructionists to determine why the helicopter accident happened and to testify in court.

Our firm is proud of the compensation we have obtained for our clients in the highly specialized area of airplane crashes. We handle all aviation accident cases on a contingency fee basis. This means that you pay no attorney fees unless we are successful in obtaining compensation for you.
